Stranger Square is designed as a lightweight place to meet one stranger at a time. There are no public profiles, no follower graph, and no account signup.
What you provide
When you enter Stranger Square, you provide a display name, gender, and age. These details are shown to the stranger you are matched with so the room feels clear and human.
Messages, reactions, and movement inside a room are processed so the live two-person experience works.
What is collected automatically
- A browser identifier stored in your browser helps with reconnecting, abuse prevention, report cooldowns, and avoiding immediate rematches after a report.
- IP address and request details may be processed by the server and hosting providers for routing, rate limits, security, and approximate location matching.
- Approximate location may be used to choose a nearby match. It is not shown to strangers.
- Vercel Analytics may collect page views and basic technical information to understand site traffic.
How it is used
- To match you into a private two-person room.
- To deliver chat, reactions, and room state in real time.
- To reduce spam, bots, harassment, scams, and unsafe behavior.
- To understand whether the product is working and how much traffic it receives.
Safety and reports
If a user is reported, Stranger Square may store limited safety evidence for a limited time, including recent room messages, room identifiers, profile basics, and hashed technical identifiers. This helps prevent immediate rematching and supports abuse controls.
Chat text may be filtered to hide links, email addresses, phone-like numbers, social handles, or blocked words.
Retention
Live room data is intended to be temporary. Safety reports, rate-limit records, abuse cooldowns, and analytics records may last longer where needed to operate and protect the service.
Clearing your browser data can remove the local browser identifier from your device, but it may also reset helpful safety and reconnect behavior.
Your choices
- Do not use Stranger Square if you are under 18.
- Do not share personal, contact, financial, or location details with strangers.
- Use Leave, Next, or Report whenever a conversation feels wrong.
- Use browser privacy tools or content blockers if you want to limit analytics, though some features may still require technical data to function.
Contact
For privacy or safety requests, contact the site operator through the account or channel where Stranger Square was shared.
